Sound Healing Questions

What is the difference between small, medium, and large bowls in the Basic Series Course? How should I choose?

The main difference between the small, medium, and large bowls in the Basic Series Course lies in the "frequency" and "vibration" of the bowls. Different frequencies have various effects on the human body. The small bowl has a higher frequency, making it ideal for enhancing focus and relieving pressure in the head and eyes. The large bowl, on the other hand, has a deeper, more stable frequency, with longer-lasting vibrations, making it suitable for releasing tension and relaxing a stiff body.

Both small, medium, and large bowls offer excellent self-healing benefits, so you can choose based on your preferred frequency or your current budget!

Do I need to start with the basic course if I want to become a sound healer?
The basic series courses are designed for 'home self-healing' using single-bowl techniques. If your goal is to become a professional sound healer, you can directly enroll in the 'Beginner Sound Healer Training Course' without needing to start with the basic series.
Is it possible to join the 'Beginner Sound Healer Training Course' without any prior experience with singing bowls?
Yes, absolutely! In the 'Beginner Sound Healer Training Course,' the instructor will teach from the very basics and guide participants step by step to master the techniques of using singing bowls. So even if you have no prior experience, you'll be able to follow along and learn effectively!
Do I need to have a good sense of pitch to learn singing bowls? Is it possible to learn without any knowledge of music theory?
The techniques for using single bowls and the three-bowl methods taught in the beginner sound healer course don’t require much sense of pitch, and you can easily learn even without any knowledge of music theory. In the intermediate and advanced courses, you will start to explore the relationship between frequencies and chakras, and the courses will progressively train your ability to identify frequencies and provide you with the necessary professional knowledge.

s there any overlap between the 'Basic Series Course' and the 'Sound Healer Training Series'?
The 'Basic Series Course' is a home self-healing course focused on the single-bowl technique, while the 'Sound Healer Training Series' is a professional training course that teaches harmonic techniques using three to seven bowls. There is no overlap in the content of these courses. You can choose the course based on your learning goals and budget.
Is there a discount if I sign up for both the beginner and intermediate training courses together?
For each course in the Sound Healer Training Series, participants must pass an assessment after completing the course in order to receive a certification. This is because the intermediate course involves significantly more complex techniques compared to the beginner course. If you try to complete all the courses in a short time without first mastering the three-bowl technique from the beginner course, it won’t be beneficial at all. Additionally, this assessment system is designed to prevent the practice of buying certifications without proper training. Therefore, Mantra Singing Bowls does not offer any discounts for signing up for multiple courses at once. We hope you can understand and appreciate this approach.
Does Mantra’s certification have international recognition?

Singing bowl sound healing is a highly flexible and adaptable form of sound therapy, and there is currently no unified international standard or certification system for it. Once sound healers have mastered the basics, they can develop their own unique healing style based on their experience and creativity. Therefore, all sound healer certifications are issued by individual institutions, and there is no internationally recognized certification standard.

Mantra's certifications are jointly issued by institutions in Taiwan and Nepal. After passing the assessment for the beginner sound healer training course, you will receive the [Taiwan Mantra Instructor Certificate]. Upon completing the intermediate and advanced sound healer training courses and passing the instructor’s assessment, you will receive the [Taiwan Mantra Instructor Certificate], followed by the [Nepal International Instructor Certificate].

Can I start teaching after receiving the certification?

Students who complete the 'Mantra Intermediate Sound Healer Training Course' and pass the assessment to obtain the certification can start offering classes to the public.

However, we do not encourage students to aim solely for teaching right after completing the course. Sound healing is a practice that requires time to accumulate experience and deepen understanding. While beginners may have learned the basic knowledge after completing the course, becoming a qualified sound healer requires continuous practice, reflection, and further study. Starting to teach too early may cause students to overlook the importance of improving their own skills and professional development, which could affect the quality of teaching and healing results. We encourage students to solidify their foundation, gradually build confidence and professionalism, and eventually serve others in their best capacity.

I don’t have a singing bowl. Do I need to buy one before the class?

The instructor will provide practice bowls for free during the class, allowing students to experience the differences in frequencies firsthand. We recommend waiting until after the class, once you have a better understanding of the frequencies, to choose a singing bowl that best suits you based on your personal experience.

I already have my own singing bowl, but I'm not sure if it's suitable for the course.

You can bring your bowl to the class, and the instructor will personally check it for you. Alternatively, you can schedule a session at the studio before the class to have the instructor evaluate it.

I already have one singing bowl. Is it possible for the instructor to help me match it with two more bowls suitable for the beginner course?

In principle, it’s possible! However, matching bowls depends on timing and availability, so we can't guarantee an immediate match—it may take some time. We hope you can understand this in advance. If you’d like, you can schedule a session at the studio, and the instructor can assist you with this.

Are the large, medium, and small bowls used in the Basic Series Course the same as the three bowls in the Beginner Sound Healer Course?

Not at all! The medium bowl in the Basic Series has a diameter of approximately Ø17–20 cm, and the small bowl is around Ø12–16 cm. The three bowls used in the Beginner Sound Healer Training Course consist of large bowls, with diameters around Ø22, 24, and 26–28 cm.
